Dear friends,
With the second anniversary of Bart’s death approaching, we wanted to reach out and thank you again for your commitment to our cause. Despite the pain we carry in our hearts, we are truly grateful for the many years we had with our wonderful son.
We’d like to share that our beloved Bart now has a memorial bench at Crossings Park in Colonie, NY. The bench is located near the gazebo by the lake. If you’re ever passing through the area, we hope you have a chance to rest there and remember our boy.
Over the last two years, the outpouring of support we’ve received has been a blessing. Please know that your emails, messages, and cards provide great comfort. Our objective in starting the BART Foundation many years ago was to exponentially increase awareness of alternative therapies among brain injury survivors, caregivers, and healthcare practitioners. We promise that Bart’s life and legacy will continue to help and inspire families and individuals in the TBI/ABI community. He was ever so proud of the Foundation, never missing a chance to spread its message of realistic hope for survivors.
As we begin a new year, our board continues researching and promoting safe, alternative therapies and the medical professionals who advocate for their use in the United States. Our Alternative Therapies for Brain Injury Survivors Webinar recently featured a talk by Dr. Ronald J. Swatzyna, Director and Chief Scientist of the Houston Neuroscience Brain Center and Founder of Clinical NeuroAnalytics, LLC. A recording of the presentation is available on our YouTube channel.
We continue to promote the BART Foundation’s Barlean’s Oil Scholarship, which helps put Omega-3 oil into the hands of brain injury survivors who could not otherwise afford it. This program, launched in 2016, is the first (and possibly only) of its kind.

Your love and support have always been a boon to us. Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones.
Your sister and brother in brain injury,
Dayle and Joel
