The TreatNOW Coalition is a group of citizens, veterans, institutions, and service organizations working pro bono to help brain-injured Veterans and servicemembers suffering from concussions, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). TreatNOW has helped over 7,500 individuals with TBI through hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).
Every month, TreatNOW compiles a list of published research studies that demonstrate the safe and effective use of HBOT for use with TBI/ABI. The January update is long, but it can be scrolled through on your computer, and articles that have been published online have a short link that can be clicked on. Please note that not every journal article is published online and that not all journals have free access. If you are interested in an article that cannot be easily accessed, consider contacting your local public library as they may be able to help.
HBOT is one of the safe, alternative therapies the BART Foundation believes may help brain injury survivors. Perhaps if HBOT becomes more widely accepted as a treatment option, TBI/ABI survivors will be able to gain better access to this life-changing treatment.
We encourage everyone to follow and support the work of TreatNOW and review the news and research studies published on their website.
